Theory: Therapeutic Value of Stories

A leading practitioner in the field of Storytelling Grove (2013:3) argues that stories are more than a sitting and listening activity: 'Through stories we find out new experiences and ideas, we develop empathy and imagination, we learn to face challenges and solve problems.'

The stories are a fusion of everyones talents created by working together to produce something greater and more wonderful than the sum of their parts.

A shared journey between a child and an animal, both of whom have complex disabilities and special needs. They take wing in hand and together, learn about friendship, problem solving and understanding the world.
